Don Bryant and his excellent group of musicians produced arguably the tightest, mightiest and classiest performances during the 2017 Richmond Folk Festival. Bryant – a master of southern soul music at 75 years young – projected a powerful voice and stage presence. Toiling behind the Memphis Soul scenes since the mid ’60s as a songwriter, and somewhat in the long shadow cast by the Reverend Al Green, Bryant released a new LP earlier this year.
