Spur-Throated Grasshopper (Melanoplus ponderosus), the most common grasshopper in North America… or is this a Differential Grasshopper (Melanoplus differentialis)?

“Highest Order” is just a figure of speech, and in this case the actual Order is Orthroptera. Grasshoppers can be tremendous pests to farmers.
