Sochietah Ung

Sochietah Ung (not pictured here), an emigre from Cambodia, is a Cambodian costume, crown, and mask maker. Cambodian dance and opera costume crowns are multi-tiered spires that resemble the top of Buddhist shrines symbolizing Mount Meru, the center of the Buddhist universe.
Ing’s costumes were featured as part of the 2018 Richmond Folk Festival Virginia Folklife Area’s theme Masquerade.
