Sri Lankan Dance Academy of NY’s mission is to preserve the significant cultural and artistic heritage of Sri Lanka in America through both traditional and contemporary drumming and dancing. Kandyan dance is an ancient art from the up country of Sri Lanka, region of Kandy.

Based in Staten Island, New York, the SLDANY performed at the 2016 Richmond Folk Festival.
