Ice is Nice

… except maybe if you’re a citrus grower, and if you don’t have to walk or drive on it. It may seem extremely early to see this much ice in Richmond, VA during November, but it’s all just a minor mishap. A very small section of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden had irrigation running last night during temperatures approaching 27 degrees Fahrenheit – actually colder in an open area with a breeze. No worries, the few plantings affected are already dormant. Irrigation lines will be cleared and shut down for the season tomorrow.
