Folk Festival Sunday

A beautiful day, a manageable-size crowd, and a typically diverse musical line up. A wonderful ramp up to the day’s listening pleasure began with the tranquil sound of Flory Jagoda, one of Virginia’s winners of the National Heritage Fellowship, the highest honor the U.S. government can bestow upon a traditional artist. Then the train gathered steam with the rocking, rolling power stage act of Lance Lipinsky, disciple of rockabilly’s greatest sounds.

Lance briefly rides the piano bench – a rare seated moment.

In classic fashion, Lance climbs higher and higher.

The drummer and the shaking, baking dancers.
