Load sharing is a relatively contemporary term, used to describe server processing distribution in information technology systems, and the term also describes voltage demand balancing in electrical power systems. In the case of the Lewis Ginter Community Kitchen Garden the term means “many hands make light work.” It’s a charming coincidence when the term applies to the many 2012 volunteers from Dominion Power.

Maxine Jones and her Employee Engagement team from Dominion Power’s Customer Service Department worked in the garden on June 25, teaming up with Christa Vidonic’s Dominion Power Metering team to work alongside several individual volunteers from HandsOn RVA. They harvested 232 lbs. of zucchini & cucumbers, and fed the developing crop of tomatoes. Special thanks to Kourtnie Jones for providing logistical support.

On August 13 Dianne Corsello and the Customer Solutions – New Technology team harvested, fed and maintained the tomato crop. The team included Graham Cecil, Rob Smith, Stan Blackwell, Mike Gurganus and James Tew. Special thanks to James for the logistical support.
