Making History

20th Century African American Art, now at the VMFA until June 10. That gives you less than two weeks to stop by the VMFA and witness this special collection. Go see it. The VCUarts – Department of Art History student-organized exhibition features more than 50 works by 23 renowned and lesser known African American artists once associated with the pioneering Barnett Aden Gallery (1943 – 1969). The very compelling exhibition represents part of the Barnett Aden collection saved and restored by Margaret & John Gottwald.
