Cabbage Patch

The cabbages have now been in the garden for 60 days, and it’s pretty obvious the red cabbages are going to need the full 85 days to maturity. That would peg harvest at around December 1.

We've already harvested two types of green cabbage, but the red cabbages are just beginning to form heads.
Smooth like velvet, the red cabbage leaves are beautiful and very appetizing.
These Early Gonzales cabbages are kind of cool - in that they grow only as large as a softball - but not ideal for a production-oriented garden.
