Scarborough Country

On Sunday I attended the annual reunion of one of my great grandfathers (my maternal grandmother’s clan). Somehow my camera remained at the meeting site, but was recovered by one of my aunts, so today I visited Surry County (and Isle of Wight County) once again, to retrieve my camera and spend a little time with two of my aunts.

Cotton is king for the moment in Surry County. Apparently there is a world shortage.
Who said cotton is King... looks like a queen to me.
This is what happens when you don't tend to your cottage garden. Nature takes over - sometimes with a vengeance.
Somehow it always comes back to the lower James, and a connection to the sea.
